Messi for Barcelona Unity
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has called for unity among fans, players, and team management at the club. His appeal follows some negative publicity Camp Nou has got following his open desire to leave the club. This was preceded by another of the club’s legend Suarez leaving for Athletico Madrid this year, a move that was criticized by Messi as the club’s failure.
Speaking for only the second time since the dispute with the club’s management became public, Messi said it is time for all to put behind the controversies and unite in everybody’s best interest. The Argentinian star who has been with the club since 2005, had openly desired to leave it after it suffered a humiliating loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final recently. The German club inflicted an 8-2 loss on Barcelona.

BARCA WANT NEW STRIKER
Barcelona are eager to bring in a new striker this summer. Following the injury to Luis Suárez, Barca made a move to sign a replacement in January. They made a move for Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. No deal materialized as the Gunners captain remained with his club.
Suárez was forced to undergo surgery after suffering a knee injury and is not expected to return until April at the earliest.

Frenkie de Jong has revealed he will like to follow in the footsteps of Lionel Messi and retire at Barcelona. Messi has been having a busy season. In the beginning, in September this year, he talked about how he and the team were trying to retain Neymar for the summer months. Neymar and his exit from the team of Paris Saint Germain was in the news for a while, especially when the Brazilian talked about his want to come back to Barcelona. He has left Messi’s team for Paris two years back.
Many executives of PSG stated that the star player lacked commitment and that he was looking to come back to Real Madrid. However, no deal was formed and Neymar continues to play for Paris. Messi admits that he also wanted the player to return but no demands were made. The Argentine stated that there had been several discussions made but that the player was not asked to sign up. The team simply stated that they would want Neymar back if he wanted to come but there were several obstacles such as his present contract and the way he had left the team two years back.

Lionel Messi is set to break more records in the La Liga this term with Barcelona. Barca arefavourites to retain the title despite the expected increased competition from Real Madrid and Atletico. The Argentine may miss his team’s first game in the La Liga on Friday when they face Athletic Bilbao.
Messi is not yet cleared to feature as he recovers from a calf injury. He was not even in the team that faced Napoli in the United States as he focuses on returning to action quickly. Messi is expected to recover and claim the highest goalscorer in the new season, equaling Hugo Sanchez’s record for four in a row. He has scored 33 hat tricks and could equal the 34 Cristiano Ronaldo holds in the La Liga. Messi has won the Pichichi six times already, tied with TelmoZarra. He is expected to break off this season.
Messi is Europe’s top scorer for three straight seasons. He is expected to continue in this light, making it seven times in total. In terms of assists, El Clasicoand Best Player in the league, there is none that compares to Messi.
All these were the talking points as Ronaldo claims he is the King of the Champions League in his latest documentary with DAZN. The 33-year old Juve star claims winning the Champions League with multiple clubs gives him the edge over his rival. Ronaldo has won the UCL five times, once at United and four at Real Madrid compared to Messi winning all four times at Barcelona.
Ronaldo said being the top scorer for six years, winning as many UCL titles and with two different teams powers his claim to identify with the European elite tournament. He said money aside, making a name in the annals of history is all he thinks of each morning he sees a new day.
Fans obsessed with Ronaldo’s comments, largely agreeing with him as the UCL King for now, but no one comes close to Messi in the La Liga which starts soon.
